Mark Zandveld is bassist and bandleader of American jazz vocalist Deborah J. Carter since 1994. He also produced five cd's for her. (See discography) They tour often abroad for concerts, jazz festivals, jazz club tours, and seminars in many countries like The Netherlands, Spain, Portugal, USA, Azerbaijan, Tunisia, Russia, Lithuania, Colombia, Austria, Canada, Belgium, Luxemburg, Germany, Switzerland, UK, Malta, Turkey, France.

Mark is available as a free lance bassist. He has experience in styles from jazz to soul, pop and latin. Good reading & decades of experience.

Bethany's

Amsterdam Vocal Session

Mark has been running a jazz vocal session on tuesdays in Amsterdam. This project started in january 2009 and proved to be very popular with vocalists. A professional trio was available to accompany them in a friendly non-competitive atmosphere. More than a dozen singers got on stage every week, ranging from professionals to students and amateurs. The new location is Bethany's Jazz Club.

Organizer / programmer

Due to his many contacts, Mark has been asked to program jazz concerts and sessions in different locations. He organized the Winterjazz series at the Noorderparkkamer, Amsterdam-Noord, and produced Ameri'cante as the main program on request by the Yes Gouda Jazz festival.

Recording

Originally used for the CD production for Deborah J. Carter exclusively, Mark's skill and studio equipment is now also available for recordings on location for artists and groups. Equipment includes a Yamaha harddisk recorder and a fine collection of microphones by Beyer, Shure, Neumann, Octave etc. Mixing is done in Logic on a Mac Pro with PMC and Tannoy monitoring.
